What Is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a traditional East Asian Medicine practice that has existed for over 3,000 years. It is a complete and holistic system of medicine that encourages the body to self heal and restore balance.

Acupuncture involves the gentle insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body. These points are selected to activate and access "Qi" - which is the vital life force. When imbalances occur, Qi is unable to move freely and illness and pain arise. Acupuncture rebalances the body and promotes overall well-being.

Adjunctive modalities you might see in our clinic:
Cupping Therapy
Cupping therapy creates a vacuum, allowing the muscle and fascia to pull upwards to improve circulation and release tension. Cupping helps return blood flow and oxygen to problem areas, thus promoting cell repair. This therapy is used to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and promote relaxation.
Gua Sha
Gua Sha loosely translates 'to scrape' and 'redness of the skin' (petechiae). It is used to improve local circulation, release tension especially in muscles, and breaking down fascia adhesions. Additionally, gua sha can be used for facial/cosmetic purposes.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves the burning of dried Mugwort to promote healing and alleviate pain. It is deeply warming in the channels to assist with circulation to relieve pain and boost energy. This therapy is used to treat various health conditions, including digestive disorders, menstrual cramps, and joint pain.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine uses mostly plants to treat illness and disease. Herbal therapy is often used in conjunction with acupuncture, allowing for a holistic approach. Herbs are often given in either capsule or powdered form.
